Introduction

What is cannoli_OS?

cannoli_OS is an opinionated setup for Retro Emulation on Android.

Android has a reputation for being tedious to set up. cannoli_OS looks to change this.

An emulator is software that mimics gaming hardware. It allows your Android device to pretend to be a Game Boy, a SNES, a PlayStation, etc.

I absolutely adore MinUI by Shaun Inman.

No fuss, a focused feature set, and unapologetically opinionated.

I've been yearning for this type of experience on Android.

Without his masterpiece this derivative would not exist.

For that I thank him, and apologize for this bastardization of his creation.

Here is how cannoli_OS is planning to bring the convenience of MinUI to Android.

Nonna's Kitchen, a web client that lets you reach into the cookie jar. Upload your legally sourced BIOS files and ROMs, backup saves and more all without having to wrangle files.

RicottaArch - an optional fork of RetroArch with a dumb name so the maintainers don't need to support a custom menu driver.
